I photograph people in a way that feels honest, intentional and unmistakably like them. My work is rooted in connection, storytelling and creating images that feel just as powerful as the people in them.
It started with
my mom's camera.
Long before photography became my profession, it was simply part of my life. Growing up in Detroit, I can't remember a time when my mom didn't have her 35mm Kodak camera nearby. When she upgraded, she passed her old camera down to me and I've pretty much had one attached to my hip ever since.
I became the person everyone expected to have a camera at the barbecue, the family gathering or the event. I loved capturing people as they were, and that same thing still drives my work today.
What I love most is watching someone who walked in saying, "I'm not photogenic" or "I don't know how to pose" start to relax. We joke, we talk, I guide them through it and then I show them the back of my camera and watch their face light up. That's the good stuff.
For my brand clients, it goes even further. I get to take what makes them them and bring that personality into their imagery so their customers aren't just seeing another standard headshot. They're seeing the person behind the business.

I don't expect you to walk into a session knowing where to put your hands, which way to turn or what to do with your face. That's my job.
